About the Flexitarian Pledge

Welcome to the Flexitarian Pledge!

So what are we all about?  Well in short we are here to create vegetarians between us, so we don't have to give up meat.


So here is the thing....... meat is lovely.......... I love meat.  

However current research indicates that:
  • We eat too much meat.  
  • Links have been found between too much meat and certain health conditions and diagnoses.
  • Meat production causes more emissions than all of transportation put together and is the second biggest contributor to the destruction of the o-zone layer after energy production.
The easiest way to deal with this would be to become a vegetarian......... but life with no meat would be very sad.  So here's the good bit, here at the Flexitarian Pledge we are pledging to have a meat free day.  For some this may be just one day a week (e.g. Meat Free Mondays), for others it may be more (e.g. Weekday Vegetarian).  Then we can club our meat free days together to make a "vegetarian" between us!

When you have had a meat-free day, click the "I've had a meat free day" poll on the right hand side of the blog.  This will help us to see how many meat free days between us and we can club these together to "create a vegetarian" (e.g. 7 x meat-free Mondays = 1 vegetarian for a week!)
